SATEC FOUR WINDS PROGRAM

Are you interested in being involved in your child’s classroom at SATEC? The SATEC Four Winds Nature Program is a great way to share a love of science and nature with your child in their classroom.

A SATEC Four Winds Nature Program volunteer does not require a science degree or a teaching certification; just an interest in learning, sharing, and being involved in your child’s classroom. Volunteers are supplied with all the materials and training (both live and online) for each lesson.

During the 2018-2019 school year, the SATEC Four Winds Nature Program will be studying the theme of Patterns in Nature with 5 units:

Disguises                      Cones                             Snowflakes

Tracks                    Nests

To find out more about Four Winds Nature Program at SATEC, please contact me directly at the e-mail listed below. Please provide me with your name, your child’s name, their teacher, and any questions that you may have. It really is a very fun group to be a part of and it only takes a few hours a month to make a huge difference!

Odyssey Of The Mind

What is Odyssey of the Mind?

A team creative thinking and problem solving competition that runs from mid-October to March 16 (state competition day).  (Typically one practice a week)

Who can participate?

Any SATEC student in grades K-8 (no cost, but there will be a fundraiser to participate in).  Teams are put together based on interests, grade level and volunteer coach availability. To be on a team, students must be able to work with other students and be considerate of others ideas (teamwork).   Students also need to have the desire to be creative and have fun!!

Want to learn more about Odyssey of the Mind and possibly sign up?

Come to a family night to learn more about this program and participate in some Odyssey of the Mind activities!  Past participants are encouraged to attend and share their experiences with the program.

When?

September 21st in the SATEC cafeteria from 6:30-7:30.

RSVP (to make sure we have enough room/activities) to:
