Hello!

I sincerely hope that you and your families are healthy and happy.  Please know that your Fairfield faculty and staff miss you all very much.

Soon, April 13 actually, we will begin something called “continuity of education.”  Teachers have been preparing for this by setting up online classrooms and planning learning activities.  You can access all online materials at our website… go to maplerun.org, click on Campuses, then Fairfield Center School  You will see a yellow link on the main picture. Click that link and you will go right to our Remote Learning Site. Bookmark that site for ease of access.

In accordance with best practices in remote learning, children in grades PK-2 should expect about an hour of work per day; in grades 3-5 you can expect about two hours of work per day; and in middle school, you can expect about three hours of work per day.  This includes reading time, unified arts, and any video lessons or Zoom sessions you may attend.

As we gear up for continuity of education, you may need some materials from school. We will be making material deliveries with our food deliveries on Thursdays.  Please contact your teacher if you need anything. Additionally, you may choose to pick up materials at school. If so, we will leave a bin for your family in front of the school from 10:30am to 7:00pm on Thursdays and you can come by and take the contents of the bin when convenient (please leave the bin).  Just let your teacher know what you need and how you prefer to obtain materials. If you need a Chromebook, please let your teacher know and we will send one home for you. Unfortunately, iPads cannot be lent out at this time.

As we adjust to this new and temporary reality, please keep in touch and let us know how things are going.  We are learning and growing together and value your feedback. That’s all for now. Take good care… stay healthy… stay home if you can… and know that you are in our hearts every day. We wish you well.
