Human Services

Through experience, community involvement, and classroom instruction, students will learn about working with preschoolers, school-aged children, people with special needs, and the elderly. These students are preparing for careers as teachers, counselors, social workers, day care providers, geriatric service providers and workers in the health care and mental health fields. The Human Services students are responsible for many of the activities at Northwest Technical Center’s preschool, "Curiosity Corners”. Upon completion of this program, students will be prepared to either enter college or the workforce.

The Human Services program is a college prep program, and students will need reading, writing and presentation skills to be successful. Students accepted into the program must be able to pass an Agency of Human Services background check to participate in work based learning at the Curiosity Corners preschool.
