Services for Homeless Students

Services for English Language Learners

The Maple Run Unified School District provides services for students who are English Learners (EL) in grades P-12. Through the years, EL has been called ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and ELL (English for Language Learners). Students whose home language is other than English are provided with opportunities to develop skills in four areas of communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Through the EL program, students work toward achieving proficiency in these areas of communication as well as supporting their achievement in the core academic areas.
