MASTER GARDENER SITE APPROVAL

St. Albans City School has long been engaged in gardening and the volume of the garden spaces has grown larger. With expanded garden areas have come increased work to maintain the growing spaces. To assist the school's Farm to School program, coordinator and master gardener, Heather Smith, recently reached out to the Master Gardener certifying program in the region.  All master gardeners have to complete many volunteer work hours before achieving certification. Our site will now be an approved site for volunteers to come and work. It will be a huge boost to our gardening efforts, particularly in Summers where adult and student help is thin. Master gardeners Beret and Kitty checked over the wet school gardens and orchards on Monday the 17th of July.
