PSAT Testing Day – Tuesday, October 20
On Tuesday, October 20, all 10th- and 11th-grade students will be taking the PSAT from 8:10-11:10 am. 12th-grade students who registered will be taking the SAT. Because testing will take place throughout the building, BFA will operate on a modified schedule.
Students in 9th and 12th grade who are not participating in testing should arrive at 11:00 am. Students who NEED to arrive before then will be kept in the cafeteria.
ALL students will begin classes at 11:15 am. Please review the modified schedule below: Mid-morning bus run: LINK
WHY PSAT?
Because Vermont’s statewide high school assessment in Math and ELA does not go beyond 9th grade, the PSAT gives us a consistent way to measure academic growth through 10th and 11th grade. Results help us see whether students continue to grow, where they may need additional support, and where our instruction has the greatest impact.
The PSAT also provides meaningful benefits directly to students, including personalized career insights and planning resources, information about college readiness, and, for 11th-grade students, opportunities for recognition and scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Program.
In short: the PSAT helps us measure growth, improve instruction, and give students useful information for planning what comes next.
Thank you for your flexibility as we provide our 10th- and 11th-grade students with the opportunity to participate in the PSAT.
