Dear Seniors and Families,

You’ve reached the final days before graduation. I’d like to extend my congratulations to each of you! Here’s this week’s details leading up  to graduation:

Senior Parade/BBQ Event - Wednesday, June 8

Seniors will be dismissed from school at the beginning of the extended advisory to decorate their cars and a bus.  The parade will leave BFA about 2:30ish.  It will travel north on Main Street and then west on Lake Street to the St. Albans Bay Park.  At the park, the seniors will enjoy games and activities and a BBQ which will be cooked and served by members of the BFA/NCTC staff.  The event will last until 6:00pm.

*In the case of rain, the event will be held at the Complex with the parade traveling south on Main Street and east up Fairfax Street to the Complex.

Rehearsal is on Friday, June 10th at 1 pm at the CPSC. Report to the rink. Please note that graduation rehearsal is mandatory in order for you to walk at graduation. Rehearsal is followed by an ice cream social at 3 pm and families are welcome to attend.

Here is a bulleted list of What to Expect at this year’s 92nd Commencement for the Class of 2022 on Saturday, June 11th at 11 am at the Collins Perley Sports Complex:

  • The decision will be made on Thursday, June 9th if graduation is an outdoor or indoor event. An alert call/message will be sent to seniors and families informing of this decision..

  • On June 11th, seniors are to arrive at the Complex no later than 10 am and promptly report to the rink to line up.

  • Please dress comfortably as it can be very warm regardless of if graduation is outdoors or indoors.  If graduation is outdoors, graduates will be walking on turf and sitting on the bleachers so ensure your shoes are appropriate (i.e. high heels can get caught in grass and on bleachers). Seniors should arrive with their cap and gown on.

  • Please ride with your families to limit the number of vehicles for parking. Traffic in and around CPSC is congested. Carpooling is encouraged.

  • Once families have parked, they will be directed to the registration area for check in. Please have your (4) tickets ready to present. Seniors will each be given 4 tickets for reserved seating. Other family members/guests may sit in the open seating area. Once registration is complete, you will be ushered to your seating area. Note: Seniors will receive tickets at rehearsal.

  • If you have special accessibility requirements, please ensure that an usher assists you.

  • At 11 am, the seniors will march in, be seated and the commencement begins.

  • Photographs at graduation will include the presentation of the diploma, followed by a portrait holding the diploma.  Family portraits will be available in the sports complex immediately following the graduation for any families that wish to have studio style portraits.  These will also be available for review on the website.   Images from graduation will be posted for your families to view on Monday morning at the following links:  To access the images by computer:   https://donwhipple.zenfolio.com/p157819411
