Dear Maple Run Community,
We wanted to make you aware that multiple law enforcement agencies across the state are receiving calls reporting shooting events at local schools. This included a call received by the St. Albans City Police Department in regard to St. Albans City School around 10:00 a.m. today.
Our MRUSD Safety Team worked with St. Albans City Police and our admin staff at multiple schools to quickly determine that our buildings were safe and that we followed our safety protocols.
These calls appear to be associated with ongoing nationwide hoax phone threats of school shootings, bomb threats, etc. and the Vermont Intelligence Center is not aware of any credible threats related to these phone calls.
As always, the District will continue to take precautions around the safety of our students and staff. If there are any updates or new information, we will be sure to share that with each of you. We are grateful to our MRUSD Safety Team and our partnership with the St. Albans Police Department.
