This week, SATEC students will join schools across the United States in celebrating Red Ribbon Week (October 27–31), a special time to learn about making healthy choices and living safe, happy, and drug-free lives. Our Student Voice Committee has planned daily activities to highlight this important week, and we encourage students to participate in the themed dress-up days.
Monday, 10/27:
The student voice committee wants to share that this week we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. It's a time when students, teachers, and families come together to learn about how making healthy choices can help everyone live safe and happy lives, free from drugs. You will learn more about Red Ribbon Week throughout this week.
Tuesday, 10/28:
This year’s theme is “Life Is A Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free™.” Each healthy choice is like a puzzle piece that contributes to a bright future. Students are encouraged to wear red to show their commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Students are invited to wear their favorite sports apparel or gear. The Student Voice Committee reminds us to “team up to be drug-free together!”
Wednesday, 10/29:
Every student is unique, just like each puzzle piece. Staying drug-free helps protect your health and embrace your individuality. We encourage students to wear red on Wednesday (10/29) as a way to symbolize a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Thursday, 10/30:
Students will engage in the “Life Is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free™” activity. Each homeroom will receive a puzzle piece to decorate together, illustrating what they believe represents a healthy lifestyle. By making healthy choices, students are building a brighter, more complete puzzle for their future. Students are encouraged to wear bright colors to celebrate their dreams and bright futures.
Friday, 10/31 – Spirit Day:
On the final day of Red Ribbon Week, students are invited to wear green, white, and/or SATEC shirts to show school pride and commitment to healthy living. We celebrate the positive choices students make each day. Our theme, “Life Is A Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free™,” reminds everyone that each decision shapes the picture of their future.
Thank you for supporting your child in participating in Red Ribbon Week and reinforcing the importance of healthy, drug-free lifestyles. We are proud of our students and excited to see the positive impact of their choices!
Sincerely,
SATEC Student Voice Committee
