Congratulations to SATEC's Sophia Oszurek!

Sophia Oszurek's original composition is one of 25 selected from across the state for performance at this event!

After two years of postponed or virtual events, Vermont non-profit Music-COMP is excited to get back on track by presenting the works of young composers in their Opus 36 concert. On Tuesday, April 26th, student composers and professional musicians will meet at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Burlington, VT to rehearse and perform 25 World Premieres by students in grades 3-12 from all around the state. 

A local highlight is the work of Sophia Oszurek from SATEC. Their piece, entitled "Shimmery Sunshine Band"  will be performed by some of Vermont's most incredible professional musicians in a FREE concert at 6:30pm that evening. This concert is open to the public and will also stream live online for those unable to make the trip. Update are provided online at: https://music-comp.org/opus-36 

Music-COMP is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing experiences in music composition for young composers through online mentoring, live performances, free composition resources, and professional development for teachers. Since Opus 1 in April, 2000 Music-COMP has premiered 873 new works by student composers.
