COSMETOLOGY

Welcome to the world of Cosmetology! In the Cosmetology program, students will learn introductory practical skills which include haircutting, braiding, coloring, highlighting, and various hairstyling techniques. Theory academic work will cover topics such as Cosmetology terminology, infection control, salon business, professional image, and positive attitude.

There are many career possibilities in this profession, including Cosmetologist, Barbering, Nail Artist, Platform Artist, Product Sales Representative, Spa/Salon owner, among many more!

Completing the Cosmetology program provides students with hands on experiences and academic knowledge that will support their college education for licensure.

The opportunities will become endless in this ever-changing career!

Cosmetology I – 70211Y (2 Credit Course)

This class is an option for students in grades 10, 11 and 12. Admittance is based upon a completed application that reflects the student’s success in the following three areas:

  • Attendance

  • Attitude and behavior

  • Advancement toward grade-appropriate proficiency in English.

    Cosmetology II – 70212Y (2 Credit Course)

    This class is an option for all students who have participated in and met Cosmetology I proficiencies.

Over the course of the two-year program students may earn:

Embedded Credit: Science (.5 credit per year)

Credentials: Vermont Cosmetology License
