STUDENT SUPPORT

Student Support Services are available to all students at the Northwest Career & Technical Center.  Through the Student Support Coordinator, students are encouraged to seek out academic and organizational support and discuss individual learning needs. In addition, students are welcome to use available computers and the NCTC office for a quiet, alternative space to work.

The Coordinator provides academic help, guidance, counseling, and employability skills training.  Additionally, the Coordinator conducts assessments for all Northwest Career & Technical Center students.  These assessments include the Accuplacer, Work Keys, and other state and individual program assessments as required.  Special emphasis is placed on helping students develop skills in communication, problem solving, work ethic, and team building.

The Coordinator is a certified special needs teacher who monitors and supports all Special Education and Section 504 students.
