School Safety Worker

Today, February 13th, Maple Run Unified School District proudly recognizes and celebrates our School Safety Workers and District Liaison Officers (DLOs). This day offers an important opportunity to pause, reflect, and express our deep appreciation for the essential role they play in the daily life of our schools.

Our School Safety Workers and DLOs are integral members of our school communities. While their work includes supporting safety, their impact reaches far beyond that. Through consistent presence and meaningful interactions, they help foster school environments where students feel welcomed, respected, and supported. They build trust, form positive relationships, and serve as steady, caring adults for students throughout the school day.

These individuals take the time to listen, guide, and support students with patience and compassion. They help de-escalate challenges, offer reassurance during difficult moments, and contribute to a school culture rooted in dignity, inclusion, and belonging. Their work reflects a deep commitment to seeing students not just as learners, but as whole people.

We are grateful for the professionalism, empathy, and dedication our School Safety Workers and DLOs bring to Maple Run each day. Their efforts strengthen partnerships between schools, families, and the broader community, helping to ensure our schools remain places where every student feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.

We thank our School Safety Workers and DLOs for the meaningful difference they make, often quietly, always consistently, in the lives of students, staff, and families across our district.
