SERVICES FOR HOMELESS STUDENTS

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ensures the rights and protections for students experiencing homelessness. It requires that all homeless children have access to a free, appropriate public education. The legislation provides for:

Identification and enrollment of homeless children and youth
Ensuring access to school and appropriate services
Supporting educational stability and reducing transfers between schools

Maple Run Unified School District (MRUSD) is committed to supporting all of our families. If your family is experiencing homelessness or you want to refer a student who may be experiencing homelessness, please contact a school staff member or the MRUSD Homeless Liaison for support.
