Community service is an important part of the Bellows Free Academy experience, and members of our BFA Rotary Interact Club recently had the opportunity to put the Rotary motto, "Service Above Self," into action.
On Sunday, July 26th, BFA students volunteered at the second annual Rotary Champ Challenge at Kill Kare State Park. Working alongside their advisor, BFA school counselor Stephanie Hodgeman, students gave their time and energy to help support this meaningful community event.
The Rotary Champ Challenge raises funds to support the expansion of cardiac services at Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans. These efforts help bring additional heart care resources closer to home for community members and reduce the need to travel outside the area for certain specialized services.
The event was a wonderful example of the impact that comes when students, schools, and community organizations work together. Through their involvement, students gained valuable leadership experience while contributing to a cause that benefits neighbors throughout our region.
Thank you to the Rotary Club of Saint Albans for creating opportunities for our students to serve, connect, and make a difference. We also want to recognize the BFA Interact Club members who participated: Leo Anisman, Kennedy Heth, Noah Alyward, Rico Ashley, Nico Beenders, and Anna Hibbard.
We also recognize Caitlin Frost, Bonni Luna, and Interact alumni Lydia Hodgeman, Tomas Zemeniak, and Quincy Fournier for their support and involvement.
We are proud of our students and Stephanie for representing Maple Run with kindness, leadership, and a true commitment to serving others.
